Teacher in Charge: Mr M. Soltero
In Art Design, students learn to develop visual ideas through the creative design process by studying and applying the techniques of established designers who give popular brands their identity e.g. Quicksilver, Adidas, Adobe, etc.
Student work examples are on our blogsite which also lists all internal assessment tasks; phsard.blogspot.com
In this course -
• Students select their own theme with teacher guidance within one of three categories: Product, Event or Awareness.
• Students do not need to know how to draw but we do use sketch books to record ideas.
• Students learn to use digital media, such as Photoshop or Illustrator, following the development of their ideas.
Future Possibilities
Successful completion of this course gives students entry to Art Design 31F or Photography 31F. Entry to tertiary Art and/or design courses is often through folio submission, therefore students considering studying Art and/or design at University should enrol in two of the following Level 2 courses: Art Design, Art Photography, Art Painting, Art Printmaking, Art Sculpture.
See Mr Soltero for more information.
ART DESIGN 31F – Full Year, ART PHOTOGRAPHY 31F – Full Year
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery$60.00 includes:
• Art pack
• Group resources
• Photocopying and basic materials
NB: Supplementary materials may be required during the year; the amount varies between students.
Folio printing contribution is signalled end of Term 2 for full year course.
Maturity, enthusiasm and ability to work independently are required. Successful completion of Art11F is an advantage because these students tend to know how to manage relatively large independent projects and are more aware of how the creative process operates.
