SCIENCE 11F - Full Year

SCI11F
Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mr I. Reeves

This course studies a broad variety of Science, including Chemistry, Biology and Physics. This is designed for students who wish to pursue all 3 Sciences in Year 12 and 13. Topics in this course build on those presented in Years 9 and 10 and further develop the student's understanding of the Nature of Science.

Classes will study  from the following areas, although the exact topics may vary year to year:

1. Mechanics and motion

2. How genetic information is passed from generation to generation.

3. Language of chemistry and chemical reactions.

4. Investigation in Science.

This course will offer 16 credits and will be selected from the list below.

FUTURE POSSIBILITIES

This course can lead into a number of different Science pathways in the Senior school, including specialist Science subjects (Physics, Biology, and Chemistry) and a variety of semester courses offering smaller areas of specialty or multidisciplinary contexts.

Pathway

ASTRONOMICAL STUDIES 21S - Semester, BIOLOGY 21F - Full Year, CHEMISTRY 21F - Full Year, ELECTRONICS 22F - Robotics and Programming - Full Year, GENERAL SCIENCE 22S - Semester, LIFE SCIENCES 22S - Semester, PHYSICS 21F - Full Year
