Course Description

This course is for students from non-English speaking backgrounds.  It provides support in all language strands – written, oral and visual. Students can achieve standards for the new English Language (EL) standards. Students can also gain UE Literacy and/or study towards the IELTS examination.

Please note: There are 14 UE Literacy credits offered and there are 15 EL credits offered which contribute to NCEA Level 3.

On a case by case basis, some students may be offered further credits according to individual goals.


Recommended Prior Learning

English Language unit standards at Level 4 or post-intermediate level of English. 

Students who are doing a full Year 13 course of study.
