VISUAL ENGLISH 22F - Full Year

ENG22F
Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mr R. Adams

This course leads on from English Level 11F, 11E, or English with Media 11F. Students will develop English skills while examining mainly visual texts, analysing text composition and creator's purpose.  All internal assessments are compulsory, including the participating in seminar AS 2.5.

Assessment
All assessments are NCEA achievement standards and offer students up to 18 credits.
Students are able to gain the 8 of required 10 University Entrance (UE) literacy credits through completion of the AS 2.9 internal assessment and the AS 2.2 external examination (students can gain an additional 4 UE reading and writing credits if they opt in to the AS 2.3 external examination).

Future Possibilities
Students can continue their study of NCEA English at Level 3. NB: This course offers 8 of the 10 credits required for University Entrance literacy (if students opt in to the 2.3 unfamiliar texts examination, they are able to gain 12 of these credits). This is an excellent option for students who wish to gain UE, but do not want to study literature.
