Course Description

Design Technology is a flexible subject that allows students to work with different combinations of materials and techniques. This is a course which caters for students with an interest in designing and constructing a product using wood and metal as well as a range of other materials. This course also enables students to transfer mental images onto paper through learning specific design-related techniques.

As some of the coursework is online it is highly recommended that students bring an appropriate device to class.

Course related costs vary depending on student choice.

Contributions and Equipment/Stationery

$50.00 contribution – Materials for take home projects will be costed and a fee will be determined if the student wishes to take their completed product away.


Recommended Prior Learning

Successful completion of Year 10 Hard Materials Technology or Year 10 Construction and a proven safety record in the workshops are needed to enter this course.
