WHAT THE COURSE WILL COVER:
The Graphics- Design and Visual Communication course is a full year course and focuses on understanding and applying drawing techniques and design practice to communicate design ideas. Students will study a range of topics including architectural, furniture, and technological design.
This course is a continuation of Year 9 Graphics and comprehensively covers the skills and knowledge that a student requires to enter Year 11 Graphics. It is recommended that students bring an appropriate device to class.
The course aims to cover the following topics during the year:
-The design process
-Freehand drawing and sketching techniques and use of media
-Graphic design/presentation layout methods and techniques
-Computer aided drawing
-Formal technical/instrumental drawing
-Design Movements
-Influential Designers
WHERE DOES THE SUBJECT LEAD:
Year 11-13 Graphics
The subject offers a pathway to a number of careers including architecture/design, engineering, building and other related design-based industries.
