TRANSITION PLANNING 32S - Semester

TRP32(S) This course is a single semester (half year) option of the TRP32F course. This has an underlying focus on employability skills and is targeted at enabling students to prepare for either further study or employment. This course is intended to be flexible to meet the needs of students of all abilities. Students begin by setting individual targets based on both pathway and NCEA requirements.
Students that select the semester option will review their personal and academic goals and plan a course that helps contribute towards those goals. Students in the semester course should be aiming to complete at least 2 standards, with more available subject to student needs. Students can select standards from the TRP32F course.
In addition to NCEA standards within school, and as part of their own targets, students are encouraged and facilitated to take part in additional learning opportunities, including but not limited to: barista training, holiday STAR courses, first aid courses, learner's driver licensing, experience Ara events, CV writing and job applications. Many of these opportunities also provide significant additional NCEA credits.
Visits from and to Tertiary providers and local businesses will be organised to match student interests and needs.
