MATHEMATICS 21S - Semester
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Mrs L. McElwain.
The emphasis of this course is broader than the other 21S courses. It is a general course that offers a variety of different topics.
Mathematical and statistical thinking and concepts are developed and placed in meaningful contexts.
Future Possibilities
This course is suitable for students not sure if they wish to study Mathematics beyond the Year 12 level. This course will equip them with more advanced mathematics skills which have a practical orientation. Students may progress to Mathematics 31F.
NB: To gain entry to Level 3 Mathematics courses, students would benefit by completing two semesters of Level 2 Mathematics.
Recommended Prior Learning
Recommended number of credits gained at Level One: 12 Level 1 Achievement Standard credits
Recommended standard: Achieved or better for AS 91027 (1.2) - Apply algebraic procedures in solving problems

Students will require a graphics calculator.
