This course aims to develop a student’s ability to communicate in te reo Māori in familiar social situations. Students will gain increased understanding of the language and also improve their spoken and written Māori.
The achievement standards listed below are indicative of the possible assessments which may run alongside this course. Students will be entered into standards that best reflect their individual learning needs and attainment. Students who are capable of achieving Level 2 te reo Māori standards may also be offered further learning through Ara Institute of Canterbury via dual enrolment. Further information about this can be obtained from the careers staff.
