Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mrs S. Hanlon.

General Science
This is a short course designed around building science knowledge and looking at real world contexts and applications. The exact contexts will vary from year to year depending on the students involved but will tend to focus more on earth and physical sciences and could include topics such as: atomic and nuclear physics, chemical reactivity, and NZ geological processes.

This course will offer a minimum of 7 credits and the standards assessed will selected from the list below. It is highly recommended that students match this course with another science semester course if they wish to pursue Science in Year 13.

Future Possibilities
This course is designed to provide a general background in Science and can lead on to Year 13 Science. This course is designed for those who may wish to pursue pathways needing a science background, but not needing specialisation.

Recommended Prior Learning
