Course Description

By studying Food and Nutrition students develop a collaborative approach to constructing their knowledge linking it to the practical food preparation using ICT tools to support their learning journey.
Students will demonstrate knowledge of practices relating to safe food handling. They will investigate the nutritional needs of adolescents and discuss how society impacts on food choices and well-being. The influence of food packaging information will be examined for external assessment purposes. Students can expect to participate in practical food experiences once a week.
Nutrition provides a diverse range of career specialisations including working in nutrition, education and health care with tertiary providers, including universities, which offer courses that build on the broad knowledge gained from this course.
Access to a device would be an advantage when completing this course.
