ENGLISH LITERATURE 21F - Full Year

English 21F leads on from English 11E, 11F or English with Media 11F. It is designed for students who are interested in studying high interest literature. It will develop a student's ability to explore, analyse, and draw meaning from written texts and is ideal for students who wish to hone their reading and writing skills. The three internal standards (including AS 2.5 which includes participation in a seminar) are compulsory.
All assessments are NCEA Achievement Standards and are internally or externally assessed. Students have the opportunity to gain up to 21 credits from the standards listed below. They can gain the required 10 University Entrance (UE) literacy credits through the completion of internal assessments and achieving at least one of the two available external examinations.
Students may continue their study of English in Level 3 in the 31F or 32F course.
English 21F is for able students interested in pursuing university studies in any subject area.
Recommended Prior Learning
14 Level 1 credits with at least two Merit passes from the three external standards is the expectation for students studying this course.
Total Credits Available: 21 credits.
Externally Assessed Credits: 8 credits.
Internally Assessed Credits: 13 credits.
