Course Description

Art History is an English rich subject exploring modern and contemporary art and culture, examining the major art periods from 1960s through to the present time.

In this course:

• Students produce 2 written submissions during the semester in the form of transactional writing (i.e. these are not essays as such). Help is available for those who struggle with writing. 

• In class students watch videos, discuss art and culture, read articles and research from both visual and written texts to support opinion

• Units for first semester: Respond to the Topic of Originality, Media and Processes in painting or sculpture. 

• Units for second semester: Personal Responses to art in a gallery or museum
