Year 10 Mathematics & Statistics - Full Year - Compulsory
Course Description

In year 10, students will complete a compulsory mathematics and statistics course.
Students will learn the different curriculum strands through themed units which could include:
Money, Money, Money - explore banking, shares, loans, kiwisaver through NUMBER and Banqer platform
Most Valuable Player - STATISTICS sport analysis and future forecasts including PROBABILITY
Gamer Pro - Minecraft and Spheros will be used to explore ALGEBRA and TRIGONOMETRY
Top Tradies - design a tiny home with MEASUREMENT skills such as area and scale diagrams
Throughout the course, students will develop essential mathematical skills, such as: representing in multiple ways, critical thinking, modeling real life situations, recognising variation and uncertainty.
Education Perfect will be utilised as a tool for teaching and learning and assessment.
Recommended Prior Learning
Year 10 Mathematics is a core subject, for four periods per week for the full year.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
A BYOD device is recommended for this course.
Students will also need a scientific calculator; (some devices have these built in).
