MATHEMATICS & STATISTICS - Full Year

This course further develops knowledge in:

• Statistics and Probability

and enhances problem solving skills and mathematical thinking. 

Ever wonder what it takes to be a successful YouTuber? How much money does your favourite Football player earn per minute? Is our globe really warming and what's the probability of getting the perfect hand in poker?  Students will explore data for areas of interest through the PPDAC cycle and carry out investigations using tools such as Google Forms and NZGrapher.

Students will explore problems that relate to life in Aotearoa NZ and the Pacific. Students will use mathematical methods and processes to develop and design their dream outdoor space as part of the rebuild of Papanui High School. Tools such as Desmos and GeoGebra will help students model parts of their investigation.
