Course Description

Students develop and extend ideas in a mature body of art/design work with teacher guidance. They produce a sophisticated art/design work that can from the basis of their submission if they wish to apply to any art/design based tertiary programme.
In this course:
• Students select their own theme with teacher guidance within one of three categories: Product, Event or Awareness.
• Students do not need to know how to draw but we do use sketch books.
• Students learn to use digital media by first working out ideas in their sketch books and then finding the best way to digitally develop these ideas (with teacher guidance and support) working with Photoshop, InDesign or Illustrator.
Future Possibilities
Successful completion of ARD31S provides students with some of the content necessary to apply to tertiary Art and/or Design courses. These courses often require the submission of a folio showcasing a range of work, therefore it is recommended that students considering studying Art and/or Design at University enrol in two of the following Level 3 courses: Art Design, Art Photography, Art Painting, Art Printmaking, Art Sculpture.
See Mr Soltero for more information.
