DESIGN and TEXTILES TECHNOLOGY 11F - Full Year

Students complete two major units of work that encompass several achievement standards.
Students will demonstrate their understanding of design elements and use this to produce garments suitable for specific situations. Basic pattern adaptations are used to ensure garments produced fit the person for whom they are intended. A portfolio of work is produced to support the practical components of this subject. Students will also develop their free hand drawing skills.
This course aims to provide a grounding in important skills and knowledge that will prepare students for Design and Textile Technology 21F and 31F as well as future tertiary education at providers such as Ara.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
Fabric may need to be supplied.
Recommended Prior Learning
Year 9 & 10 Design and Textiles Technology would be an advantage, but not essential.
This course is eligible for subject endorsement.
Total Credits Available: 19 credits.
Externally Assessed Credits: 3 credits.
Internally Assessed Credits: 16 credits.
