Year 10 Design & Textiles - Half Year

Do you enjoy creating? Are you wanting to design and create your own style of clothing or textiles items then Design & Textiles is for you!  Students will research and develop ideas for personalised textile items eg a sweatshirt. 

Applied design techniques and functional modeling will be explored to develop design ideas. You will develop practical skills in construction, fabrics and the functional attributes of your item. You may be introduced to pattern adaptations to make sure your textiles product meets the specifications.

This course will give you a good grounding of understanding for future study in Year 11 Textiles Technology

 Students will:

• be encouraged to work creatively on their practical work

• explore innovative design ideas

• develop evidence of competency with portfolio work
