Year 10 Mathematics & Statistics - Full Year

In Year 10 Mathematics is a core subject, for five periods per week.
WHAT THE COURSE WILL COVER:
Year 10 Mathematics further develops the concepts met at Year 9 in the areas of Number and Algebra, Geometry and Measurement, and Statistics. Year 10 classes will learn content from levels 4, 5, and 6 of the National Mathematics and Statistics Curriculum but most students will be concentrating on level 5.
Remedial and extension programmes are available.
METHODS OF LEARNING:
Students engage in a variety of learning activities and use appropriate technology to assist in their mathematical development.
Students will develop their investigative, problem solving and mathematical communication skills throughout the course.
WHERE DOES THE SUBJECT LEAD?
All students study mathematics for at least three years. Our mathematics department offers an excellent range of courses at senior level, giving students the opportunity to follow a number of pathways in gaining National Qualifications. We aim to provide all students with the essential mathematical skills and qualifications for their future tertiary training and/or positions in the workplace.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
A BYOD device is recommended for this course.
Students will also need a scientific calculator; (some devices have these built in).
The course contribution is $20 which covers the cost of Education Perfect (or Mathletics for Supported Learning classes).
